The 3 Core Attributes of Powerful Habits & How to Develop Them
Identity, Purpose & Conviction
Those who achieve success are aware of the power of their thoughts, emotions, and behaviours.
They are also aware that their thoughts, emotions, and behaviours can either work for them or work against them. But here is the key:
When you purposefully direct the power of your thoughts, emotions, and behaviours to your desired outcomes, you awaken a slumbering force that can move mountains.
Be, therefore, deliberately thoughtful. Be emotionally centred. Be response-able.
Then follow this process to create the life you want that all successful people follow:
-
-
- Identity: Create a vision of who you want to be and what you want to achieve.
- Purpose: Spark your enthusiasm and determination through desire and will.
- Conviction: Formulate a plan, be disciplined in sticking to that plan, and build habits that will keep you following that plan toward your goals.
-
Then repeat this process over and over again until you manifest your success.
But don’t expect to magically achieve your goals at the click of your fingers. Overnight success takes 20 years to develop, as they say.
Rather, do as Arnold Schwarzenegger advised:
Create a vision of who you want to be and what you want to achieve, then grow into that vision as if it were already there.
Remember, success takes time. You will therefore need to make Identity, Purpose, and Conviction a habit.
These are not things you can just set and forget. You will need to commit to them and tend to them regularly. This means work, hard work.
You will need to work hard on your identity, creating a vision of your ideal self, your ideal life.
You will need to work hard on staying focused and undistracted on your purpose, keeping your strength of will.
You will need to work hard on maintaining your discipline and conviction, staying the course when others have given up.

Like scaling a mountain, your dreams are achieved in small steps, not large leaps.
It’s your habits that keep you moving toward your goals. Your habits create your momentum. Without good habits, you slow down and eventually stop the climb.
So we need to break old habits that aren’t serving you well and build good habits that will work for you, not against you.
As such, the intention of this website and all my self-help books is to help you set your foundation for success through the consolidation of your identity, purpose, and conviction.
When you are confident in who you are (identity), when you understand your role (purpose), and you are confident you are heading in the right direction (conviction), you have a tried and tested recipe for success:
-
-
- Identity: who are you, who do you want to be, what is your relationship to the world around you, who and what do you identify with?
- Purpose: why do you want to be that person, what is your intention, what it the meaning behind what you do, why does it matter?
- Conviction: where are you going, when do you want to arrive, how are you going to get there?
-
The clarity of your answers to these questions will be a predictive indication on your future success.
The 3 Core Attributes
To develop and amplify the components of Identity, Purpose, and Conviction, and get the most out of life, there are 3 Core Attributes you need to activate.
These attributes you already have. You don’t have to look for them, they are already part of you. Then all you do is hone them every day like a samurai warrior hones his sword.
These 3 Core Attributes are:
-
-
- Imagination
- Intention
- Attitude
-
They are like three slumbering superpowers. You already have Imagination. You already have Intention. You already have Attitude. You just need to awaken them.
