The 4 Absolute Truths of Being: Returning to What’s Always True
By Dr. Scott Zarcinas | Author, Doctor, Spiritual Coach
Life can sometimes feel overwhelming, full of noise and distractions and worries that pull you away from your centre.
But deep within, there’s a quiet place, a truth that’s always been there, waiting for you to come home to it.
In this place of your true self, there are no distractions, no separations, and no conditions. There is only stillness and clarity.
Not the kind of stillness or clarity that happens from mental striving and figuring things out, but the kind of stillness and clarity that comes from finally resting in what has always been real and permanent.
Your true home—your peaceful centre—is not something you chase or fix in yourself. It’s about lifting the veil of forgetfulness and remembering what’s already there.
When we’re driven by surface identities and ever-changing desires and needs, it’s easy to feel spiritually adrift.
But even if you feel uncertain of who you are, where you’re going, or what your purpose is, beneath the noise, at the silent centre of your being, there are fundamental truths that do not shift with your moods or circumstances. They do not fade with time or change with seasons. These truths are not beliefs to argue, but truths to remember.
Over the past 30 years, I’ve come to see these as “The 4 Absolute Truths of Being”.
These truths are not rules to follow or commandments to rigidly adhere to. Rather, they’re like stars in the night sky—always there, guiding you back to your soul’s home when you feel lost.
These 4 Absolute Truths of Being form the foundation of deep spiritual awakening.
- There is nothing but God.
- God is always good.
- There is no identity outside God.
- The Kingdom of God is within.
Let’s discuss them further.
#1: There Is Nothing but God
This is the beginning. The most radical and most simple truth.
Everything you see, touch, feel, fear, or hope for, arises from the same Infinite Source. Every moment, every breath, every joy, every pain, is part of one divine flow.
No part of your experience, no corner of your psyche, no failure, no joy, no atom, and no galaxy is separate from this Presence. Your struggles, your dreams, even the smallest things like the warmth of your morning tea; they’re all woven into this one sacred reality.
This truth reminds you there’s no need to search for something far away. You’re already part of it.
There is no “outside” to God. Whether you call it God, Spirit, the Infinite, or simply Life — all things emerge from and return to this unbroken unity.
This truth breaks the illusion of separation. It gently dissolves the idea that you are a soul over here trying to reach a God over there. There’s only One here; and you are within It.
This is not pantheism or metaphor. It is reality: There is nothing but God.
#2: God Is Always Good
This truth can be the hardest to accept, especially in moments of suffering, grief, or injustice. But it remains. Not as a platitude, but as a spiritual principle.
God’s goodness is not conditional. It does not depend on outcomes or appearances. It is not a reward for behavior. It is the very nature of the Divine. Its quality.
Goodness is the deeper pulse of Love, Life, and Intelligence running through all things, and from which all things arise.
Which means that even in what seems dark, painful, or uncertain, there is a deeper benevolence at work. Not always visible, but always present.
If there is nothing but God, and God is good, then everything, seen through the eyes of truth, reveals a hidden kindness and warmth.
Even your struggles can become an invitation to see through the veil of duality and witness the invisible Truth of Being. In this way, even your doubt can become a doorway into deeper faith.
This doesn’t mean we deny pain and suffering. It means we trust the Absolute Goodness that holds it.
A goodness that isn’t somewhere else, but is the very foundation of being itself.
It means your pain isn’t a punishment; it’s a doorway to deeper trust.
#3: There Is No Identity Outside God
You are not a mistake. You are not broken. You are not a separate self scrambling to prove your worth or trying to earn your place in heaven.
Your identity is not something you create. It’s something you uncover, like a sculpture being revealed from a block of stone.
And what you find, when all that is false falls away, is Divine.
You are not a fragment. You are not “other” than. You are not a physical body trying to be more spiritual. You are Spirit expressing itself in the form of a body.
This truth asks you to stop locating your worth in achievements, titles, relationships, or appearances, and to begin recognising the sacred within yourself.
So let go of the layers—the “shoulds” and expectations and false beliefs of who you think you are—for this is how you see the Truth within.
You’re not trying to become spiritual—you’re already a spark of the Infinite, expressing itself through you.
As such, you are not trying to reach God. You are already held within God’s embrace, a Divine Idea held within Divine Mind.
You are from God, made of God, and held in God. There is no “outside.”
There is no identity outside God. The more you remember this, the more peace returns.
#4: The Kingdom of God Is Within
What you’ve been longing for is not “out there” in the world.
It’s not in the next teacher, the next method, the next awakening, or even the next lifetime.
What your heart longs for—peace, joy, belonging—isn’t out there in the next achievement or perfect moment. It’s already inside you, waiting to be remembered.
The stillness, wholeness, and divine belonging you seek lives within your own being as the source and substance of your being.
The “Kingdom of Heaven” is not a far-off realm, nor is it some place you arrive at in the future after you die. It is here and now.
This doesn’t mean your outer life doesn’t matter. It means your outer life flows from your inner state. When you stop chasing fulfillment outside yourself and turn inward, you rediscover your true home. A home that was never lost, only forgotten.
What your heart longs for—peace, joy, belonging, freedom—isn’t out there in the next achievement or perfect moment. It’s already inside you, waiting to be remembered.
The Kingdom of God is within. And when you finally return to this inner temple, everything begins to change.
