Procrastinator Persona Type 3: Impulsive Investor
Congratulations on taking the My Procrastinator Persona Quiz and identifying your Procrastinator Persona.
Knowing your persona as an “Impulsive Investor” is the first step to breaking through procrastination.
You are now on the road to greater confidence, achievement, and success.
As an Impulsive Investor, you have unique challenges to overcome procrastination and unique solutions to those challenges:
- You’ve created a busy life, but you’re doing so much of everything else you don’t have time to do what you’d like to be doing.
- You’re constantly on the go, but you don’t know where you are at times, which means you have a tendency to throw your hands in the air and give up.
- You want to find a way to clear the mind fog and get clarity of the path ahead, but until that happens, you’re kind of moving in circles and ending up back where you began.
- You wish you could have some timeout to slow down and focus on the really important things you want to do, which will help you to move in the right direction.
Impulsive Investor Solution:
Refine Your Values
It’s not physically possible to do everything. Work will never end.
So you need a tailored plan to refine your values so that you can identify what’s important and prioritise what’s essential. This plan will help you to stop reacting unconsciously to everything that happens and to stop procrastinating.
Refining your values is how you prioritise what’s important.
You can then start responding with definiteness of purpose instead of reacting on instinct, giving you the impetus to move in the direction that’s right for you.
Break Through Plan—Step 1
Identify the 1 thing that is the biggest cause of procrastination
Think of this ‘1 thing’ as your personal red flag. With this in mind, your first step is to keep a record (e.g. a procrastination journal) of how many times this red flag comes to your attention in the next 24 hours (e.g. excuses, avoidance behaviour, distractions).
