Flip the Switch: How to Access the Power of Source and Shine Your Light
By Dr. Scott Zarcinas | Author, Doctor, Spiritual Coach
You were born to shine.
Like a light bulb, your mind is a vessel designed to radiate energy, warmth, and light. But no bulb shines on its own—it must be connected to a power source.
This is the human spiritual condition:
We have the potential for light, but unless we are connected to Source and properly attuned, our light remains flickering, dull, or dormant.
Without that connection, even the most well-designed bulb remains dark.
Likewise, your full spiritual brilliance remains dormant without connection to the infinite energy of Source—Life, Love, and Consciousness itself.
Here’s the truth:
The power is always flowing. The current of Source never stops.
What interrupts our ability to receive it is not the absence of the current—but our belief in separation.
This belief—that we are cut off from God, unworthy of wholeness, or independent from the greater flow of Life—acts like an off switch. It disconnects our awareness from the Source, and that disconnection manifests as fear, suffering, limitation, and doubt.
But the switch can be flipped.
When you return to the truth of your Oneness with Source, when you realise that you live because Life is living, you flip the switch back on.
You remember who you really are: not the lightbulb itself, but the light that flows through it.
To keep the light flowing and growing, you must engage the three spiritual principles of Awareness, Alignment, and Action—the circuit of conscious living.
🔍 1. Awareness: Realising the Source Is Always On
The first principle is Awareness—recognising the ever-present current of Divine Energy.
Electricity doesn’t mind whether the bulb is ready or not—it flows, endlessly.
The same is true for Source. Life itself is an uninterrupted stream of intelligence, love, and creative power.
The issue isn’t that the current stops—it’s that we’ve forgotten how to plug in.
This awareness begins when you question the unconscious belief in separation:
-
“I’m not good enough.”
-
“I have to earn love or approval.”
-
“I’m on my own in this world.”
-
“God is somewhere out there, not here.”
These are the mental shadows that keep the switch turned off.
Awareness: Switching On the Power
Through meditation, reflection, and spiritual study, we begin to notice how often we are caught in mental loops of fear, lack, or unworthiness—patterns that act like broken wires, blocking the flow.
Awareness is the spiritual act of remembering. You begin to see that your sense of disconnection is only a thought—a thought you can let go.
The more you become still, reflective, and open, the more you realise that the light has been waiting to shine through you all along.
Awareness practices help you see:
-
Where you’ve disconnected from your divine nature.
-
How your ego masks the truth of your being.
-
That your light is not something you must generate—it’s something you allow.
Practices like meditation, journaling, and mindful inquiry help you come back to this simple truth:
“My life is One with All Life. I live because Life is living.”
With this realisation, the switch flips. The bulb doesn’t generate power—it simply allows it to flow.
Awareness Affirmation:
“The light is always shining. I quiet my mind to receive it.”
Awareness is the switch that allows the current to flow again. It is not the light itself, but the condition that makes illumination possible.
💗 2. Alignment: Preparing the Mind to Conduct Power
Once awareness is restored, the next step is Alignment—ensuring your inner “wiring” is intact, whole, and capable of carrying the current of Source.
Just as a light bulb’s filament must be in working order to shine brightly, your mind and heart must be aligned with Spiritual Truth to allow Divine Energy to flow through you clearly and powerfully.
Misalignment occurs through:
-
Emotional blockages (unforgiveness, guilt, shame).
-
Mental clutter (judgement, comparison, worry, fear).
-
Resistance to truth (clinging to ego identity or limiting beliefs).
Alignment is the practice of returning to wholeness by clearing what’s in the way.
This includes:
-
Contemplation of Absolute Truth: purity, oneness, perfection, love, and non-duality.
-
Forgiveness—releasing the emotional burdens that constrict the flow of divine light.
-
Letting go of the illusion that you are a separate identity from Source.
You don’t have to “fix” yourself. You simply need to remove what doesn’t belong to you—the false conceptions, labels, and limitations you’ve picked up along the way.
Then you can start to align with your Divine Nature and identify with the Love, Light, and Power of Source.
Alignment Affirmation:
“There is no identity outside God.”
When your heart aligns with love and your mind reflects truth, the light begins to flow effortlessly. The bulb glows with its full potential.
Alignment: Clearing the Distortions
For your mind and heart to be in harmony with spiritual truth and allow divine energy to move through you, you must clear the distortions in your inner wiring—false beliefs, emotional wounds, unforgiveness, resistance.
It also means tuning your thoughts and desires to reflect the nature of Source: Oneness, Love, Goodness, and Truth.
Practices of Alignment include:
-
Contemplation on spiritual principles: “I and the Source are One.” “I live because Life is living.” “There is nothing but God.”
-
Forgiveness, which dissolves inner blocks and restores flow.
-
Letting go of control, ego identity, and fear of unworthiness.
Alignment doesn’t require perfection—it requires integrity. Like the filament of the bulb, your inner conditions of consciousness must be clear and receptive enough to carry the current.
Alignment Affirmation:
“I align my thoughts with Truth, my heart with Love, and my desires with Divine Purpose.”
When your thoughts, emotions, and intentions are aligned, the divine current moves effortlessly through you—and the light grows brighter.
🔥 3. Action: Letting Your Light Shine
The third pillar is Action—expressing your divine nature in the world.
A bulb connected to power and properly wired still must fulfill its purpose: to shine.
Spiritual power isn’t meant to be hoarded or hidden. It’s meant to illuminate your life and those around you.
This is not action driven by ego or ambition, but action flowing from inner radiance—service, creativity, generosity, gratitude.
Spiritual Action includes:
-
Thanksgiving and Praise — recognising and celebrating the beauty of the Divine Current in your life.
-
Generosity — sharing your energy, gifts, time, and attention from a sense of abundance.
-
Authentic living — speaking, creating, and acting from your true self.
Just as a light bulb lights up the room, your soul lights up the world. Every act of love, forgiveness, or gratitude is a spark that reminds others of their own Source.
Action Affirmation:
“I am a vessel of Divine Light. Through me, Love becomes visible and alive.”
Action completes the circuit. It is not separate from spirituality—it is spirituality in motion.
